I gave this advice to a friend this evening, and I would do well to pay attention to it myself when feelings of overwhelm start to surface. So, I am reposting it here as an aide memoire.
Sometimes we can begin to feel lost in the myriad of things that we think are important and we ought to be doing. When you recognise this is happening, perhaps make time to reconnect with yourself: stop what you're doing, sit down, make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and focus on your breathing, the in breath and the out breath. Reconnect with the feeling of just being. It's so calming. There is happiness to be found in just being present in each and every moment.
Be kinder to yourself.
